Coniston
Coniston Village is situated at the head of Coniston Water; the third longest lake in the Lake District. Coniston is a popular spot for hill walking & rock climbing.

The Coniston Old Man rises to 2633 feet & Dow Crag is great for rock climbing, There are also Lake shore walks. Grizedale forest is not too far away, great for mountain biking.

Coniston Water
The Lake is only 10 mins walk away where you can enjoy the water, by hiring rowing boats, enjoy a plush Victorian steam-powered yacht called the Gondola or the Coniston Launch powered by solar panels.

Brantwood
On the other side of the Lake is the home of John Ruskin; a painter and poet, which can be reached by road or the lake.

Donald Campbell
Donald Campbell lost his life attempting the world water speed record on Coniston Water. They are hoping to bring the boat BlueBird back to the local museum which can be found in Coniston village.

Tarn Hows
One of the best loved places in the Lake District. With the view of the Langdale Pikes, visited by approx three quarters of a million people a year.

Grizedale Forest
You can walk the sculpture trails, mountain biking is very popular and also GO APE: an adventure course of rope, bridges, swings and zip slides from high up in the trees.

Pony Trekking
We have a local pony trekking centre only 5 minutes walk away, you can enjoy fantastic scenery of the fells and Coniston Water.
